Story Synopsis

A rare book dealer acquires a battered first-edition novel at an estate sale and discovers a handwritten second novel bound inside its covers, written by the original owner's reclusive mother in 1947. As scholars, collectors, and the family's last surviving grandchild all descend upon the shop, the dealer must decide who deserves to read the secret text first.
