Sailing Past the Reef

Story Synopsis

After a sailing accident claims part of her leg, sixteen-year-old Noor spends two years avoiding the sea, until her grandmother purchases a battered sloop and offers her one summer to restore it. With the help of an outspoken shipwright named Hamza, who insists she hoist every sail herself, Noor must rebuild both boat and confidence before the annual regatta on the Gulf of Oman.
