Story Synopsis
When sixteen-year-old Yara inherits a tarnished brass compass from her Bedouin grandfather, she and her best friend vow to follow its needle across the Hajar Mountains in a grueling sixty-mile footrace. Along the way, the girls must outwit smugglers lurking in the wadis, endure sandstorms that erase the trail, and reconcile their divergent dreams for the future before the finish line.
