The Shepherd's Daughter

Story Synopsis

After her father's stroke leaves the family croft without its handler, nineteen-year-old Mhairi MacLeod must train her obstinate young sheepdog Rab to work the Blackface flock before the autumn gathering. Battling bitter weather, skeptical neighbors, and her own self-doubt, she discovers that trust rather than command is the true currency of partnership.
