The Manatee Calf

Story Synopsis

A marine biologist in coastal Florida adopts an orphaned manatee calf after its mother is struck by a boat, committing to a year of round-the-clock bottle feeding. Federal bureaucracy and ongoing habitat loss threaten to delay the calf's eventual release into the wild spring river system, forcing her to make difficult decisions.
